This is a simple peasant skirt - with an elastic waist and gathered fabric tiers, and finished with a simple hem. Everyone needs a fun summer peasant skirt to slip on when heading out for a beautiful summer day!

Size:  2 years to approximately 9 years old, with waist measuring 20" to 25".

Recommended Fabric:  Batik Rayon, Cotton Batik.

Use the drop down button to select from our favorite Batik Rayon combination. We will do our best to select four Batik Rayon fabrics with the color combinations in the photo. We may need to substitute a motif, but we will not substitute a color.

Skill Level:  Beginner. I used a serger and a traditional sewing machine to sew each skirt. The gathers are made using a method of sewing baste stitches and pulling those threads to gather each fabric tier. I also describe an option for using your serger to create the gathered fabric very quickly, replacing the need to pull a thread. Remember:  a serger is not required to sew this fun skirt.
