The fabric is dyed using a traditional Japanese method to create a unique pattern by wrapping, stitching and compressing the fabric or by using rice stencils. The Shibori dying technique creates a unique pattern of coloured and uncoloured parts. This means every piece is unique and no two pieces are the same.
